Letter from Principal Brian Wallace

August 15, 2022

Dear Meredith Parents/Guardians:

I hope that your Summer was fun and relaxing.  I am truly excited to be your new Principal for the upcoming school year.  I am honored to be a part of a school community composed of faculty, staff, students, and parents who want to achieve great things for our students and school community.

It is with distinct pride that I introduce myself as an educator who was born and raised in Philadelphia.  I am also a proud product of the School District of Philadelphia. I have spent over 21 years in education serving students in the Philadelphia area.  For seven of those years I was the Principal of the Morton McMichael Elementary School located in West Philadelphia.  My most recent position was serving as the Principal of Elkins Park Middle School in the Cheltenham School District for three years.  My daughter Jasmine is in the 6th grade and attends a district school in the city.  My wife Sharice works a few blocks from our school.  I am delighted to return to the School District of Philadelphia to once again serve the city I live in and love.

Please know that I am eager to begin the school year with you and your student(s); however, I will begin to serve the Meredith School on or before September 26, 2022 when I have completed the transition process from my prior position. I will remain in close contact with the Guest Principal of Meredith,       Dr. Ralph Burnley, until that time. I will also keep an open line of communication with the school community throughout this transition period.

Throughout the entire city, there is excitement as our students are getting ready to return for the 2022-2023 school year.  It is with that same level of excitement that I look forward to leading our school.  It is my passion to make sure that all students under my care receive the best educational opportunities possible.  I am looking forward to providing all students with a safe, nurturing and academically rich environment where they can reach their full potential.  I am also looking forward to meeting and getting to know you.

I wish you and your child a successful and rewarding school year.

Very Truly Yours,

Brian R. Wallace Principal
