THE INSTRUMENTAL PROGRAM AT MEREDITH

MUSICAL INSTRUMENT INSTRUCTION AT MEREDITH SCHOOL (Grades 3-8)

Does your child want to learn to play a musical instrument? If selected for the instrumental music program, they will receive a lesson each week and will have the opportunity to perform in an ensemble that plays at various school functions throughout the year. Orchestra (strings) is open to students Grades 3 and up, and Band (woodwind, brass, percussion) is open to Grades 4 to 6.

Playing an instrument well enough to perform in an ensemble takes a real desire to succeed and a serious commitment to practice every day. If your child has the desire and is willing to make that commitment; and, if you are willing to encourage and support his or her efforts at home, please fill out the online interest form at http://goo.gl/PMmrxA. The number of school owned instruments is limited.  However, if a school instrument is not available there are still some fairly inexpensive options.

Everyone who has done it knows that making music with other people is a wonderful experience. We hope your child will be able to share that experience with us.

Sincerely,
