Hello Meredith Community!
There’s a lot happening in the Art Studio, and I’d love to highlight a few exciting updates.
First, our mosaic mural installation, Snapshots of Childhood Joy: The Meredith Mosaic, is in its final stages! Students are putting the finishing touches on their chip art mosaics, which will be submitted for scanning and printing with Fresh Artists this Friday. Be sure to check out two of the completed pieces in the slideshow!

Additionally, three second-grade classes have completed their greeting cards. These will be displayed in the storefront window of WallFlower Paper and Party Store (721–723 S. Fourth St). Second-grade parents, please remember to sign the permission slip so your child’s artwork can be included in the display.

I’d also like to highlight the wonderful work happening in Room 103. Students are currently creating paintings inspired by Joan Mitchell, the renowned abstract expressionist painter. In their first class, students explored her fast, expressive, and energetic brushwork—an exciting foundation for their own creative pieces.

Finally, a big thank you to all of our students and parents this year. Your children continue to impress with their creativity and hard work!
Warmly,
Mrs. Sonya Smith
