Meredith School Leadership, the Home & School Association (HSA), the School Advisory Council (SAC), and Room Parents all work together closely to help support students, teachers/staff, and families in complementary ways.

Home & School Association (HSA)
The Meredith Home and School Association (HSA) is a volunteer-run 501(c)3 organization focused on supporting Meredith School. The HSA typically supplements the school budget by funding: Support Staff Salaries, Classroom Materials, Performing Arts, School Library & Technology Lab, Internal & External Beautification Efforts, Family Engagement Events, Community Engagement Events and so much more!
Monthly HSA Community Meetings & Brunch with Brevard are open to all parents, caregivers, and community members. Meetings are typically held at 9:00 am on the first Friday of every month, from October through June. The meeting time is scheduled to accommodate school leadership and to coincide with parent drop-off times. We meet in person in the Meredith cafeteria, where coffee and a light breakfast are served, and offer a hybrid Zoom format to meet parent and caregiver needs.

Thank you to Stacy Koilor for serving as our SAC/HSA liaison. Thanks also to our departing board members from 2024-25, Danielle Cormier-Smith, Marissa Green Anderson, and Andrew Riley, for all your contributions!
School Advisory Council (SAC)
What is a School Advisory Council?
SACs are elected, collaborative teams composed of family members, school staff, students (for schools with grades 7–12), and community members. SACs champion the work for improved student achievement, effective teaching in the classroom, parent and community engagement in the educational process, and communication and support between home and school.
SAC meetings must be held at least every other month, and SACs must have data-driven, strategic conversations that center on the three primary focus areas for SACs: supporting academic achievement, improving school climate, and strengthening family engagement.
More info about SACs and why they are required at each school, is available at the district website here: https://www.philasd.org/face/#sac
Meredith SAC
The Meredith SAC holds monthly meetings that are open to all parents, caregivers, students and community members. Meetings are typically held at 3:45 pm on the second Monday of each month, from September to June, unless there is a holiday or other conflict. We meet in person with a hybrid Zoom format. Agendas and meeting details are shared in advance. The meeting time is scheduled to accommodate teachers who sit on the School Advisory Council.
